With Fall Fest underway from September 23- September 26, there will be a whole truckload of fun activities to do with family and friends to celebrate the emergence of vibrant leaves and pumpkins! Westminster Rec & Parks has utilized volunteers in order to kick it all off! Playing a vital role in the development of the community event, local nonprofit organizations have pitched in volunteering hours to get the event running smoothly.

Fall Fest proves to be a fun and rewarding way for nonprofits to volunteer while boosting their own organization. In efforts to cultivate a sense of community, 250-300 volunteers have chosen to participate in this event. There are 4 nonprofits that have been heavily involved with Fall Fest this year: Special Olympics is running Bingo, Westminster Municipal Band is handling the national anthem, ticket booth, and volunteer check-in, Potomac Case Management is taking care of the dime pitch and scarecrow, and the MCQE Mobile Pet Pantry is overseeing the kids zone! Through their time and efforts, these nonprofits will receive a percentage of the revenue from Fall Fest, which will aid in building their nonprofit towards greater heights.

VomaSmart, the online volunteer program launched by EspSmart, a graduate and now affiliate of the Maryland Innovation Center (MIC), helps register and manage volunteers for various events, nonprofits, municipalities, and disasters. VomaSmart aids in creating a personalized experience for the volunteers and they’re delighted to support Fall Fest’s success, as nonprofits are rapidly registering volunteers for the event!
